**What I am about to suggest to you may need to be tested in a corner area where it will not be noticed if it effects the painting at all.**

Using a warm iron place a paper towel between the painting and the iron. Gently iron the paper towel lifting slightly while still warm to lift the crayon off the painting. Hopefully the painting is not effected, and the wax should be now attached to the paper towel and not the painting.

Best of wishes!!
References :
Visit Crayola's web site @ www.crayola.com. Try Customer support. CHECK WITH A RESTORATION business. They might have a solution. Hope this helps. If all else fails, carefully using a Q-tip and WD-40, spray some WD-40 into a dish. Dip Q-tip into WD-40, squeeze off excess and in an inconspicuous place (bottom corner) gently rub crayon mark and see if it comes off. Blot with clean Q-tip. If this works, it might take a long time to remove the crayon. Good luck.
References :
Just be very careful if you decide to try the Mr. Clean eraser. My daughter colored on my wall with a marker, and when I used it to clean off the marks, it took the paint off my wall!!!!
References :
Sorry there is nothing you can do to salvage this picture but you might try a little baking soda mixed into a paste put this on a cloth and rub very gently on just the edge of the crayon line allow to dry then when dry brush off, if removed but did not harm painting then you are okay to use it on the rest of the crayon markings, Warning you must do the test first to be sure it does not take off the paint, as oil paintings are very sensitive to any cleaner that will dissolve mishaps. Good Luck ! Hope all goes well for you.
References :
I personally would go with the Mr. Clean magic eraser. I don't know if it would cause damage, maybe you could rub a small section first. At this point, if nothing else will do it, it can't hurt to try. I've seen it do amazing things!

btw.... i don't sell magic erasers, just love them!

edited to add.... check out snopes.
