Mainly the base boards.
under most conditions it would have little effect but if your home is more humid then normal then the humidity could absorb into the material that is painted and there for cause bubbling and/ or discoloration.

My husband and I are removing aluminum siding from our 1760′s colonial. We are pleasantly surprised by the condition of the clapboards. We can’t wait to freshen up the house with new paint. We want avoid a white exterior but keep the color close to the period it was built. Any suggestions?
Color that is historical also needs to blend with the neighborhood and be something that makes you happy to come home. Look through these period color choices
